Hi, I’m just wondering that if on the day I have a droid depot reservation and there is a requirement for a boarding group, how would that work? Would we still be able to get into the are or would we need to get a boarding time?

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Cecilia!

This has certainly been an exciting weekend on the planet Batuu with the opening of the brand new attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The debut of something new and highly-anticipated has opened up discussion of the boarding group system being used again so let's chat about what you should do if you have a reservation at Droid Depot on your upcoming trip and how that all works together with the boarding groups.

I'll start by saying that if boarding groups are being used to admit guests into Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, then your reservation at Droid Depot will get you in on its own and you do not need to join a boarding group. You will be able to enter up to an hour in advance of your reservation and once you're inside you are not limited when it comes to how long you can stay. Now, if you're interested in riding Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, there is no conventional queue at the moment and you will need to join a boarding group specifically for that attraction. Just open up your My Disney Experience app and you'll be greeted with the option to join a boarding group. I recommend doing that as soon as you tap your MagicBand or admission card to enter Disney's Hollywood Studios!

I hope this answers your question, Cecilia, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
