I'm wondering when the best time to go? When is it the least expensive and less crowded times? But still nice weather.

    Victoria:

Disney's Value Season is the least expensive time to visit and dates vary throughout the year from mid-January to mid-February, mid-August through September, and mid-November to mid-December except for the week of Thanksgiving.  Naturally, it's least expensive because crowds are low and Disney tries to entice travelers with discounts on rack rates.  So price is proportionate to crowd levels: the cheaper your room, most likely the smaller the crowds.

Nice weather can be another thing, because least expensive doesn't necessarily mean best weather!  Our family has been twice in September and it was hot--and we're from South Mississippi and used to humid temperatures. However, the weather wasn't unbearable and there's something to be said about putting your hair in a ponytail and just throwing on a pair of shorts for the day--talk about low maintenance!  Best of all, if you want to enjoy the water parks, the weather's warm enough to stay all day.

I've been twice in February and the weather was very pleasant, albeit a little on the cooler side at night (think sweats). But lots of sunshine to chase away the winter blues.

My favorite time of year for low crowds, cheap prices and good weather is November. You can still wear shorts during the day and sometimes get away with a light jacket at night. The decorations for Christmas dot the landscape, and pictures pop against the blue skies in the background. You'll find the lowest crowds the week right after Thanksgiving.

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
