Hello, I'm wondering what is the best way to get from the Boardwalk resort to Port Orleans (to gluten free beignets, specifically!)?

Hi, Erin!  Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!

With its cobblestone streets, wrought-iron railings, and colorful Mardi Gras decor, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is, in my opinion, one of the most charming Disney Resorts Collection Hotels.  My family and I have called this resort hotel our home away from home several times, and the highlight of our stays were always the beignets at Scat Cat's Club - Cafe.  I would be happy to help you map out the best route to try this delicious treat for yourself.

Since Walt Disney World Resort transportation does not run between resort hotels, you will not be able to take a bus directly from Disney's BoardWalk Inn to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter.  Parking at Disney Resorts Collection Hotels is typically reserved for registered hotel Guests and Guests with dining reservations.  Since Scat Cat's Club does not accept reservations, I do not recommend driving your own vehicle if you have access to one.  I think your best bet for traveling between resort hotels is using a ride-share service or taking Disney transportation from Disney's BoardWalk Inn to one of the theme parks or Disney Springs.  From a theme park or Disney Springs, you can hop on a bus headed for Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, and you'll be enjoying those delicious beignets in no time.

Erin, there is also a complimentary water taxi that travels between Disney Springs and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter.  This boat ride is such a relaxing way to travel!  If your plan is to use Disney transportation to travel between the two resorts, my recommendation would be to take a bus from Disney's BoardWalk Inn to Disney Springs, then take the boat down the Sassagoula River to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter.  After you've enjoyed your beignets, you can take the water transportation back to Disney Springs and do some shopping.
