Hello Ariel!
Thanks so much for your question! It's always fun to buy a special souvenir or two (or three...) when you're visiting the Disneyland Resort.
While costumes are sold at several locations across the parks and resort area, you'll rarely find much in adult sizes. Since
guests ages 14 and over aren't allowed to wear costumes in the theme parks (outside of special events like
Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party) the lack of adult costumes kind of makes sense. With many new movies each year, it can also be harder to find characters from our favorite shows when it's been a little while since they were new. I haven't seen any Disney Descendants items in shops around the parks in a while, but the merchandise is always changing. You never know!
I did take a look at the
shopDisney website and found some awesome costumes for adults this year. Sadly, none of them are Mal, but there is an amazing Maleficent one! If your heart is set on Mal then you might have to take matters into your own tentacles...oops, that's Ursula...I mean hands. For example, my daughter wants to be Kim Possible for Halloween this year, which isn't exactly a recent show. So we've been shopping around for pieces to build her costume ourselves. It's actually going really well, and we're having fun hunting for the perfect clothes and accessories!
Ariel, whether you have to hunt for your fashion across the internet or you decide to create some magic of your own design, I'm confident that you will build an ensemble that Mal and her devious mother would be proud of. If fashion is something you love then you might want to stop by the
Disney Dress Shop! They have really fun designs inspired by the theme parks, with an amazing selection of accessories. Happy shopping!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
