I'm going on a wish for 3rd cruise, first time not concierge. How do regular guests change dining rotation without standing in line forever

Ahoy there, Debra! I am thrilled to welcome you back to planDisney and even more excited that Captains Mickey and Minnie will welcome you back on board the Disney Wish soon!

You have a few options to try to change your dining time. First, you can go to your reservation and find "Dining" under your Cruise Details. You should see the link to "Change Seating." You can also do this on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app under your reservation and "Next Steps." If your desired time is unavailable, you can request to be added to the waitlist.

If you do not get the seating you want before your cruise, you can check once you are on board to see if there is any availability to change.

The earlier you can get in line, the better your chances of making a change. Your best bet to get onboard as soon as possible is getting an early Port Arrival Time (PAT). You can select your PAT as part of the pre-arrival check-in. Since you are a Castaway Club Silver member, your window opens at 12:01 a.m., 33 days before your cruise, ahead of first-time cruisers.

I know, as you said, the line can be long. I stood in this line once, hoping for a Palo brunch reservation. Luckily, the couple behind me took a divide-and-conquer approach. The husband headed to the pool deck to get Drinks of the Day and, in the magic of Disney, bought extras for the friends he knew his wife was making. We were waiting in line but didn't have to wait to enjoy being on a Disney cruise. And I love the fast friends you can make!

Since you are sailing on the Disney Wish, I assume you have second seating and want the earlier time. I know you have your reasons, and I hope you get what you want. If you cannot change, you might like the later dining time. My husband and I did this for the first time when cruising with two other couples. Since we didn't have our little Mouseketeers with us, it was fun to try. We have enjoyed the second seating with our family ever since. We really enjoy the pace of the later time. And the restaurants and 24/7 Room Service make it easy to grab a snack or light bite if anyone gets hungry earlier in the day. The best part is the second seating on Debarkation Day. We can sleep in and dine later. On the last night, when the Cruise Director shares directions for the morning, including when you have to be at breakfast, that later time is like a sprinkle of Pixie Dust on a bittersweet day.

Debra, I hope you get the change you want. But, if not, I know you will still have an amazing time on the most magical ship at sea. If you have any other questions, please swim back by planDisney
