I'm going to WDW in sept/oct for 10 days would you recommend Port Orleans (either one) or Animal Kingdom Lodge?

Jessica I can recommend all three!!!!! Port Orleans is a very popular moderate rate resort and has many return guests every year.  It has ambience and amenities are wonderful that include some water sports and good pools.  Some prefer the Port Orleans side as they feel it isn't quite as spread out but I have family members who will only reserve for the Riverside section.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is unique in that for most rooms you are able to watch the animals graze and feed throughout the day.  The feeling of being on a safari in Africa is very real and at night if you stand on your balcony you can hear the munching but you can't see them. That is when I was glad to know I was up a few floors!!!  If you have a great interest of animals this is definitely the place to stay for one of your Disney vacations.

If you are not planning to spend a great deal of time at your room then I would certainly save the money and stay at the Port Orleans resort.  To see more pictures of this resort you can go to portorleans.org.
