Im going to be at WDW Oct27th-Nov4.It will be just the two of us. I already purchased the 7 day magic your way with park hopper and dining plan. And our Halloween tickets. How much $ would you recommend I bring with me for 7 days?

    Hi Alanna,

Before my children were born, my wife and I took a whole bunch of trips to Walt Disney World as a couple. Plus, October was our favorite time of the year to visit because of the weather, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (which I'm glad to see that you scored tickets for).

With respect to your question about budgets, I definitely think I can help you.

Since you've already taken care the major expenses (hotel, travel, theme park admission, the Disney Dining Plan, and your tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party), the only things left to consider would be souvenirs and any snacks/beverages that won't be covered by your dining plan.

Brace yourself for a disclaimer in three....two...one:

I'm a shopaholic when I go on a Disney vacation.  (Phew...I'm glad I got that off my chest!)

When it comes to forecasting spending money, I budget about 25% more than I think I'll want to spend. So, if I think I can get by on $100 each day for souvenirs and miscellaneous snacks/drinks, then I'll end up setting aside $125 for each day. You never know when you might see something really special that you absolutely have to have!

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

If you see a must-have souvenir that's quite large or fragile, the cast members can arrange to have it shipped back to your house so you don't have to worry about transporting it yourself. I've done this before and it's well worth a few extra bucks for the convenience and piece of mind.

I hope that helps! If you should have any additional questions, please feel free to write back and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.

    Best regards,
    Derek
