I'm going to WDW with my 18 month old for the first time in October. She is allergic to milk. I know allergy menus are available, but are there substitutions or special items? Like scrambled eggs sans milk? Or soy milk instead of whole for drinks?

    Hello Sarah!

Congratulations on your upcoming October vacation! Fall is such a beautiful time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. The decorations are stunning and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is such a fun event.

As much as I am sure you are looking forward to your magical vacation, I know it can be a little nerve-wracking planning with your little one's allergies in mind. Walt Disney World Resort is absolutely one of the best places to visit with food allergies or dietary concerns and hopefully it will put your mind to ease (at least a little bit) to know that you will be taken care of and she'll have plenty of options. Soy milk is available and on my trip last week, I checked out several allergy menus and was happy to find many substitutions. The breakfast menus I looked at had dairy-free waffles, oatmeal and scrambled eggs. Make sure you note her allergy on any table-service reservations and tell the Cast Members as soon as you arrive to all locations. They'll be happy to provide you with the allergy menu and have a Disney Chef come discuss options with you should you have any further concerns.

Please let us know, Sarah, if you have any other questions. We are here to help make your planning as practically perfect as possible. Enjoy your magical vacation this fall!
