i'm going to wdw in june for 5 nights 6 days, and i have the dining plan. i wanted to know how tips work at table service meals. is it added to bill, or do we put on credit card or what. just need to know if i should bring more money with me. Can't wait...

Hi Edith!  Great question about the Disney dining plan and gratuities.  They are not included except for the Dinner Shows, Cinderella's Royal Table, and In-Room Dining and if service was good it is nice to leave a tip for your server(s).  If you have a party of 6 or more then an 18% gratuity will automatically be added.  For parties less then 6 it is at your discretion what percentage you wish to offer.

You can handle the tips is several ways. You may leave cash at the table, offer a credit card at the time of payment, or charge to your room Key To The World card if you have left a credit card on record to cover charges. My family likes to charge to the room and then we aren't carrying cash to the parks. We keep track of the charges and have one bill to pay at the end of the vacation via credit card.  Be aware if you do this that the Value resorts will allow up to $500 charged on your account before they have to send it in to the credit card company to clear your bill. The moderates have a $1000 cap and the Deluxe resorts have a $1500 cap. I tell you this as sometimes we have been charging things and our meals and suddenly a charge will not go through. We have to call the resort from the table and have them clear our account by sending it to the credit card company because we hit the resort limit. Sometimes they will do this automatically but it is best to keep track yourself and notify them to do it when you know it is close.....less hassle for you!

    Have a great vacation!
