Hi, Cecilia!
Thank you for your question! As the dedicated runDisney Specialist on the Panel, I am here to help answer all your questions regarding participation in runDisney events. It's awesome your Walt Disney World® Resort vacation overlaps with the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend.
Unfortunately, runDisney does not reopen registration once a race has sold-out, nor do they wait-list any of their events. However, I do have a little pixie-dust up my sleeve and can offer you some advice on possibly securing a spot in next year's enchanted event.
• Run for a Cause - Make your run count by running for a Charity Group. This is a fun way to participate in a sold-out race, AND give back. My son just completed the Disneyland 10K as a charity runner for St. Jude Children's Hospital and it was an experience I know he'll remember. There are several charities to choose from with varying levels of commitment and fundraising requirements. To learn more, visit the
Disney Princess Half Marathon Homepage on the runDisney website and select the REGISTRATION tab. From there, select the Charity Groups tab. You will see a list of available options - select the link of the charity that most interests you to get started.
• Official runDisney Travel Providers - Travel Providers are also an option when a race has reached capacity. With this route, you are able to purchase a race entry for your desired race and often book discounted theme park tickets and discounted hotel accommodations (some will require you to book a travel package through them). I've used Get Travel Sports several times and have always had success. This information is listed directly below the charity information on the website.
I hope this helps, Cecilia! Please let me know if you should have any additional questions. I am here to help!
