Welcome to planDisney, April. Hailing from the Emerald Isle, I know a thing, or two, about rain. Indeed, I'm often heard quoting Wainwright's 'there's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.' In other words, the magic of Disney can be experienced on even the rainiest days!
I have not been able to confirm with a Cast Member that Walt Disney World purchased ponchos are replaced free of charge, and on my last Disney day, ponchos were sold for around $12, but prices are subject to change.
Ponchos are perfect in a cinch, but putting my environmental hat on, I prefer to pack some good quality rain gear rather than (often) single-use ponchos. I like to think of it as a long-term investment you won't regret! You can even pick some up in the Parks, at
The Fjording in the Norweigan Pavillion at
EPCOT, for example, you'll find a favored raingear brand of mine that protects well from the elements. They sometimes stock exclusive Disney-themed raingear too. I like to be prepared and always purchase before my trip. Many jackets roll up tightly for space-saving, easily fitting into your park bag, which is perfect as we can usually count on some changeable weather in Florida.
Whatever the climate on your trip, I know it will be filled with magic. Is there any better option to shelter from the storm than at Walt Disney World's shows?
Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond! offers the right kind of water adventure.
I hope you have a magical journey, April. You're always welcome back here with any other questions, Louise
