Hi Tara! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.

Life sometimes requires a quick change of plans, and I understand your family might need to adjust quickly to the arrival of good news! Disneyland Resort does allow you to modify or cancel your Disneyland Resort Hotel stay without penalty within a certain window. Modifying your room-only stay gives you the most flexibility. The policy states that you can modify your stay up to 24 hours in advance without penalty. However, if you need to cancel and can't move your stay to a later date, you'd need to do that five days before your scheduled arrival to avoid a penalty. You can make these changes online or call a helpful Cast Member to assist you.

A Vacation Package offers great value. However, the window for cancellation might not be the right fit for your family, as there isn't the same level of flexibility for modification or cancelation: You have until 30 days prior to arrival to modify or cancel your Vacation Package without penalty.

Disneyland Resort policies are subject to change, so it's best to periodically check if you anticipate possibly altering or canceling your plans.

I think you'll have a great time at the Disneyland Hotel. It's my family's favorite Disneyland Resort Hotel. We love the proximity to the Disneyland Monorail and retro styling. Plus, we love the dining choices.

Best of luck to your family!
