I’m wanting to look into planning a vacation in a couple of years family of 5 and I’m not sure where to start. Any suggestions?

Welcome Tesla! (What a cool name you have.)

Oh, the possibilities of planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! You have come to the right place. My friends and I here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel would be happy to walk you through the whole process. Ask as many questions as you like. That's why we are here.

I suggest you begin your planning by identifying your travel dates and determining your budget. Then, read about the inspiring places you could stay at Walt Disney World Resort. There are more than twenty amazing hotels to consider so there will certainly be one that matches your budget and personal taste. Personally, my favorite is Disney's Wilderness Lodge. I love it for its theming and proximity to Magic Kingdom Park. There are deluxe club level rooms at this resort that can accommodate your family of five, or two connecting standard rooms would work nicely too.

When you have made your hotel reservation, then consider which theme park tickets you'd like to purchase. Think about whether you'd like to be able to visit more than one park each day and also how many days you'd like to visit the parks. Do you wish to visit the Disney water parks too? If so, add the park hopper plus option to your tickets. Once you purchase your tickets, you can link them to your travel party members in your My Disney Experience account.

Investigate the various Disney Dining Plans. If one of them looks like it would match your family's dining habits, add it to your vacation package. My family regularly uses the Disney Dining Plan that includes one table service meal, one quick-service meal and two snacks per person each day.

Enjoy your planning. It can be nearly as much fun as the trip itself!
