Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Carey!
Welcome Home, and thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your excellent question. Like you, I am definitely an advanced planner, and I certainly understand wanting to book your Disney vacation as soon as possible.
For booking a Disney Vacation Club Resort with your Vacation Points, you are able to
book your Home Resort beginning 11 months out from your Check-In date. So, if your Check-In date is in January 2024, the Disney Vacation Club booking site will begin to show you availability 11 months prior to that date. If you are trying to book at a Disney Vacation Club Resort that is NOT your Home Resort, then you will be able to see availability beginning 7 months out from your Check-In date. Prior to those dates, the system won't show you availability unless you are within a booking window.
What we like to do is put a note in our calendars for exactly 11 months (or 7 months) out from our Check-In date to remind ourselves to book the Disney Vacation Club Resort of our choice. In fact, we just did this for our summer trip to
Disney's Hilton Head Resort. Doing it this way will give you the best opportunity to get the dates and Resort of your choice. For your Home Resort, the
Priority Period is from 11 months to 8 months from your Check-In date before it opens up to other Guests, so typically this isn't a problem, though it's always subject to availability. We also typically have good luck for DVC Resorts when we book 7 months out, though I will say the sooner you can secure the reservation, the better.
I hope this helps you Carey. If I can help you with any other
Disney Vacation Club questions or any questions to help you as you plan your Disney trip, stop back and
see me here. I am most happy to help you!
Happy planning!
Keri
