Anchors Aweigh, Monica! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. How exciting that your cruise is fast approaching. While my family isn’t scheduled to be back aboard
Disney Cruise Line until September, we are already counting down the days!
Now, in order for your embarkation process to be seamless, let’s talk about documentation. First, if your children are U.S. citizens,
sailing from San Juan to Miami, currently,
the original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate is permissible as proof of identification. Based on your question, I am assuming that you are planning to or have uploaded this already to the Guest Information section during online check-in. Once you have uploaded their birth certificates, you can bring their Passports with you to the port in addition, however, please make sure to also bring the birth certificates that have been uploaded.
Now, you do have the option to modify documents in this section once they have been reviewed and approved. So, when their passports arrive, you can return to the online check-in section and change the identification documentation to their passports. Just make sure whichever form of ID has been submitted during online check-in is physically with you for embarkation.
Monica, I hope this helps as you’re preparing to sail with Captain Mickey! I know you’re going to love the
Disney Magic. If you have any additional questions, please come on back to planDisney where just as the sea calls to Moana, it calls us to answer questions!
