Greetings, Cheri, and welcome to planDisney! Let's talk about the first order of business for your vacation: parking your vehicle!
While visiting the Disneyland Resort, you can
choose from three locations to leave your car: the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure, the Pixar Pals Parking Structure, and the Toy Story Parking Area. The Mickey & Friends Parking Structure entrance has a clearance of 13 feet, 10 inches. Last time I parked in the Pixar Pals Parking Structure, I noticed a sign that advised a clearance of 8 feet, 2 inches. However, you have a good plan to park in the Toy Story Parking Area, as this is an outdoor lot that can accommodate oversized vehicles.
The Toy Story Parking area has complimentary buses that can take you to the Main Entrance Esplanade. It's quite convenient! You can also choose to walk – it takes around 20 minutes each way.
Cheri, make sure you have the
Disneyland mobile app on your phone. There's a feature that allows you to save where your vehicle is parked. After a long day, it's nice not having to try to remember where to find your car. To access that in the app, tap the icon at the bottom of the screen with the three lines (☰), then scroll down and tap "Car Locator."
The app has many other helpful uses, too. You can check attraction wait times, see when and where Characters may be meeting with Guests, view showtimes, and more. If your tickets are linked in the app, you can also use it to scan into the park. I suggest that you
mobile order food through the app ahead of mealtimes – choose from available arrival windows and plan your day around that! I've also used the "Chat with Us" feature in the app at times to speak with a Cast Member.
If your phone's battery is running low and you don't have a portable charger, you can
purchase one from multiple kiosk locations in the park. The cool thing about this is that the charger can be swapped out for a fresh one whenever it runs out of power – multiple times!
There's one more thing before we say goodbye: the timing for this trip is excellent, Cheri, because the Disneyland Resort just introduced a whole bunch of new food and drink options.
Check out the Disney Parks Blog to see if there is anything you are really excited to try. I can't wait to get the ratatouille soup from Harbour Galley – yum!
Cheri, I hope your visit is filled with magical moments. If you have any questions while at the park, you can stop by one of the Guest Relations spots. Of course, you can also come back to planDisney – we're always happy to help!
Your pal,
Kriss
