Welcome to planDisney, Tony! I’m delighted to hear about your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World in September!
First up, your understanding is quite right. At the moment, Guests must be on US soil to access the advance purchase of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass or the Lightning Lane Single Pass. Once in the States,
Disney Resort hotel Guests can book for their entire stay (up to two weeks).
One of the handy features of the updated Lightning Lane Multi Pass is that you’ll know in advance what three rides are available and the timings of pre-bookable Lightning Lanes, giving you greater clarity before purchase. If you feel the availability does not work for your travel party, you will know before buying. Beyond those initial three bookable Lightning Lanes, all Guests are in the same boat on the day; once they tap into Lightning Lane access, Guests can look to book another on
My Disney Experience.
I recommend mixing things up with some days without Lightning Lanes or alternating Multi Pass and Single Pass days. The
Magic Ticket provides 14 full days of Park Hopper access to all the Parks, including the Water Parks. There’s so much to enjoy beyond the big thrills - from
shows to
dining - that you may find some days in the Parks without Lightning Lanes equally delightful. Our family really enjoys these relaxed and spontaneous days.
I hope this information helps, and please keep an eye on the Walt Disney World website for any updates. Enjoy planning your magical adventure, Tony, and feel free to reach out if you have any more questions!
