runDisney does a fantastic job minimizing any effects on theme parks during race weekends. The
Springtime Surprise Weekend events begin at 5:00 AM Friday, April 4, 2025, through Sunday, April 6, 2025. I looked ahead on the
Hours & Events Calendar, and I noticed that EPCOT will open at 10:00 AM on Sunday. This is subject to change, so I recommend checking the Hours & Events Calendar leading up to and throughout your vacation.
You may also notice changes in transportation operations during the race weekend. There are
road closures during the event, so early in the day the buses may be taking different routes. I recommend giving yourself extra time to get to your destination, just in case. Sunday’s event is the longest distance and all roads are scheduled to be reopened by 10:00 AM.
Around the theme parks, you may see a lot of people wearing their race medals or shirts. Feel free to spread some pixie dust by sharing a friendly “Congratulations” or asking about the race! I’ll be participating in this race weekend, so who knows, I might be one of the runners you see!
