I’m visiting Magic Kingdom with a group of girlfriends and we want to do a character dining experience for lunch. Where would you suggest we go? And what’s the process for booking? Thanks!

    Welcome back to planDisney, Kristen!

There is nothing that I like to do more than have lunch with friends at my Happy Place, the Walt Disney World Resort. I’m definitely a brunch girl, so my top picks when hanging out with my girlfriends are Topolino’s Terrace’s character breakfast at Disney’s Riviera Resort and Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ at Disney Springs. But if you’re looking for a midday meal surrounded by beloved Disney characters at Magic Kingdom Park, I have recommendations for that, too!

There are a few character dining reservations at Magic Kingdom Park, but I think that you would love dining with the princesses at Cinderella’s Royal Table, which is inside of Cinderella Castle. The food is delicious, and the interactions with the princesses would be an unforgettable memory with your friends.

My personal favorite spot to dine with Disney friends is the Crystal Palace. The quaint interior design is a vibe, and Winnie the Pooh and friends are super interactive here. Your friends would get some great photos in this bright-and-open space and the food is all-you-care-to-enjoy.

If your theme park tickets have a Park Hopper Option, I also highly recommend the Garden Grill Restaurant at EPCOT. Take the Monorail from Magic Kingdom Park to EPCOT for a yummy, homestyle all-you-care-to-enjoy fare while getting endless hugs from Chip ‘n’ Dale, Mickey Mouse, and Pluto. Out of all of the character dining experience at Walt Disney World Resort, this rotating restaurant is the one I revisit the most. And the best part? You all can enjoy the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays after your meal, so you can eat and drink around the World Showcase.

AN EXTRA GEM: You can start booking these dining experiences 60 days prior to your arrival date. You can book them via the My Disney Experience App or on the Walt Disney World Resort website as early as 5:45 a.m. EST at the 60-day mark. If you choose to dine with the princesses at Cinderella’s Royal Table, you’ll need to pre-pay for the experience. However, most of the other advance dining reservations only require a form of payment as a way to hold the reservation.

I hope that you all have the BEST time, Kristen! If you need any other suggestions about your upcoming visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth, please revisit us here at planDisney. I’m all ears!

    Magic always,
