Howdy, Charles! Welcome to the one and only, original, planDisney.
I am absolutely delighted to help you with this question about the
Country Bear Musical Jamboree, a combination of beloved Disney hits and Americana, our shared musical heritage. The Country Bears—and the various versions of their stage show—have been a favorite of mine over the years. I always make a point of catching their act whenever I visit the Magic Kingdom.
But enough of this chit chat, yick yack, and flim flam! Let’s get you the information you’re looking for!
The Country Bears are known to make appearances in front of Grizzly Hall in Frontierland to take pictures with fans and promote their show. Other times, you might spot them waving to their adoring public from the theater’s outdoor balcony. There are three bears—Big Al, Shaker, and Wendell—currently meeting with guests. I’ve seen them out and about in different combinations, but you can find their appearance times on the
My Disney Experience mobile app. If you pull up the map of the Magic Kingdom and choose the characters icon along the top, you’ll see all of the character meet-and-greet opportunities. If you select a character, you'll see their schedule for the day.
As for the Miami serenader, Romeo McGrowl, you’re correct that he’s not made any public appearances since he got a new haircut and stage name. I don’t know if he’s retired or if he’ll be meeting and greeting his fans in the future, but I’d keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for updates. It’s your best source for up-to-date news on Romeo, Henry, Trixie, and all the bears.
Charles, I hope this information was helpful and that you have a foot stompin’ good time on your upcoming trip. If you have any other questions, come right back and your planDisney pals will be happy to help!
Y’all come back, ya hear?
Matt
