I'm visiting in July and will be staying at the Caribbean Beach with my 7 yr old son in a pirate themed room. Has anyone stayed there recently and would you again? Any Disney Dining Plan suggestions?

Hello, Quintella!  Thanks for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is my favorite resort at Walt Disney World.  I stayed in the pirate themed rooms a little over a year ago and had a great time.  The biggest complaint about the pirate themed rooms, and I agree, is that the section of rooms are so far away from the main building. Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is very large and it is quite a walk from your room to the food court. The walk itself is beautiful and we did it for over a week and didn't mind.  However, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort does take that in to consideration and there is an internal bus that drives around the resort taking you to all the stops along the way, you would not have to walk it.  The rooms themselves are amazing!  The attention to detail is so fun.  I think your seven year old son would love it.  My daughter was 6 at the time and she thought the room was awesome.  I don't think I would book those rooms again but only because we love the regular rooms and stay there frequently.  I think it is really fun to do, at least once.

Our favorite restaurant is 'Ohana, located at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.  It is an all-you-care-to-enjoy style meal served right to your table and requires 1 Table Service Credit per person.  The food is fantastic and there is dining room entertainment like coconut races, hula dancing and even the limbo!  We also love eating breakfast at Tusker House located at Disney's Animal Kingdom.  This character meal is also an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet.  We like it because you can find the traditional breakfast fare like Mickey waffles and eggs but also try some African inspired dishes as well.  Other popular restaurants include Chef Mickey's, Cape May Cafe, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, T-REX: A Prehistoric Family Adventure and Beaches & Cream Soda Shop.  Have a magical vacation!

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
