I'm visiting with 3 friends who aren't huge Disney people. We have 1 park day & we plan to start at Magic Kingdom & park hop to Epcot! Are there any recommendations for how to approach planning the day?

Hi there, Gabi! Thanks for coming to planDisney with your vacation question; I'd love to give you some recommendations to help you and your friends have the best day ever visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth!

My first recommendation is to be sure that everyone in your party has created a My Disney Experience account and downloaded the My Disney Experience mobile app. This app is the hub of all your vacation planning - in advance, you can use it to make dining reservations, explore characters and attractions, and connect with your friends via your Friends and Family list to share plans. While on the go, you will rely on the magic at your fingertips to see wait times, park maps, mobile order meals and snacks, and navigate your day with the complimentary Disney Genie service available to all guests.

If you're planning on enjoying any sit-down meal options at either of the parks, your advance dining reservation is currently open (you can make Advance Dining Reservations 60 days ahead of time), so I would recommend securing those reservations right away if you haven't already! My top pick for table service dining at Magic Kingdom Park is Tony's Town Square, and my favorite at EPCOT is Garden Grill, a fun character meal with Farmer Mickey, Chip and Dale, and Pluto inside of the Living with the Land Pavilion. My panelist pal Amy even recommends grabbing a reservation at Tony's during the afternoon parade and viewing it from the porch of the restaurant while sipping a glass of wine; that sure sounds magical to me!

Starting your day on Main Street, U.S.A. will set the stage for a magical day; be sure to arrive early and grab an iconic group photo in front of Cinderella Castle. Before your arrival, decide with your group if you'd prefer to join the Virtual Queue for TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. Since you will have a Park Hopper Option to visit both parks, you will be eligible to join either. The booking window for these attractions will open exactly at 7 AM, so be sure to be logged into your My Disney Experience mobile app, have your theme park tickets linked to each guest, and be connected as Friends and Family so you will be ready to go! If you're thrill-seekers, you may also want to consider purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane for the other attraction to guarantee you can experience both on the same day.

For park hopping, I recommend leaving Magic Kingdom after the Festival of Fantasy parade. To hop to EPCOT, you will take the Disney Monorail from the Transportation and Ticket Center. This highway in the sky is an attraction in itself!

Once you've arrived at EPCOT, you will find yourself surrounded by springtime magic as the International Flower & Garden Festival will be in full bloom! This is my favorite festival at EPCOT! Be sure to check out the topiaries and the seasonal treats at the various outdoor kitchens throughout the park!

Gabi, I know you will have a fantastic day making magic and memories! Come see us again if you have any additional questions!

    See you real soon,
    Alison
