From what I gather, you and your friend booked a magical vacation to the
Walt Disney World Resort through the same My Disney Experience account. When this happens, all Guests registered under the same reservation have the same "leader", so to speak. In this case, any MagicBands or MagicBand+ devices have to be ordered through the leader's account in order for the pre-arrival discount to be applied. However, the MagicBands themselves can absolutely be linked to each account without a problem! In fact, it won't matter who purchases them at all. Once a MagicBand is linked to one person's account, it will belong to that person forever... even if you guys don't travel together again.
Javier, linking a new MagicBand or MagicBand+ is really easy. For this, you will need to open the
My Disney Experience mobile app, click on the three lines at the bottom right corner of the screen, scroll down, and click on MagicBands and More. Then, scroll down once more and click on Link Your MagicBand or Card. Now, simply click on Open Scanner, tap your new MagicBand or MagicBand+ to the upper section of the back of your smartphone to link it, and that's about it! You can start using it right away.
Having said all that, purchasing MagicBands and MagicBand+ devices through the leader's My Disney Experience account isn't the only way to get them. Alas, it is the only way for you to get the pre-arrival discount, but you can actually purchase them physically at the Walt Disney World Resort once you arrive! The best part about waiting is that you will most likely find a larger selection of designs, so you'll be able to pick the one that speaks to you the most.
