Hi Zach! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
Disney Parks Blog, the official news source for the parks, announced last year that the beloved Haunted Mansion in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park would be
closing temporarily for a significant refurbishment in January 2024. We've had no official announcement yet of when we might expect the Attraction to reopen with its expanded queue featuring new enhanced theming, increased accessibility, and a new retail shop.
While we're excited about these enhancements, I understand your morbid desire to enjoy this hauntingly good Attraction on your next visit. My family wasn't able to hop in a Doom Buggy on our most recent trip to Disneyland Resort due to the refurbishment, and our failure to take a hitchhiking ghost home with us was noted. While I sympathize, I can't give you a clear answer about whether you'll meet a similar fate! Madame Leota is taking a well-deserved vacation, I suspect, and without her crystal ball, I can't predict whether you'll experience these new features on your upcoming trip. I'd keep my eyes on the
Haunted Mansion page for updates.
There are so many other iconic Attractions, however! You're going to have the best time even if our favorite creepy mansion is still closed. And just know that the Haunted Mansion will be waiting for you on some future visit if not this one. Just be ready with your final arrangements--or plans if you like.
A good place to start building your plans and checking for refurbishments is the
Entertainment Schedule. It has information on entertainment, parades, fireworks, showtimes, and more! These details are subject to change or cancellation, but the Entertainment Schedule can be a great starting point for designing your day.
Have a spooky good time!
