I’m visiting DLR late April/early May. Will either the Railroad tour or Walt’s Story tour be available then?

Hi there, Lauren! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited you have a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth coming up soon. Oh boy! And sounds like you're interested in some enchanting extras - and I don't blame you! These fascinating private tours around Disneyland Park shed light on the magic we all know and love. And the Disneyland Railroad Guided Tour is most definitely on my bucket list for my train-loving family as it includes a ride on the very special Lilly Belle, a private parlor car not ordinarily open to the public named after Walt's wife and designed by her.

I spoke with a friendly Cast Member who confirmed that, at this time, we do not have word on when the Disneyland Railroad Guided Tour may return. I wish I had better news for you there, Lauren! But keep your eye on the Special Events & Tours, and specifically keep checking the blue "Check Available Days" after selecting the specific tour you're interested in. As for Walt's Main Street Story Tour, with its highlight including a visit to Walt's apartment above the Fire Station, currently there is availability in March, but not yet in April or May. Our Cast Member friend mentioned that hopefully those future dates will be released soon, as usually it's around 60 days out, but not always. The moral of the story is to keep checking!

If you love trains like my family, make your way over to Disneyland Hotel to check out the miniature Big Thunder Mountain diorama of Frontierland's famous coaster on the first floor of the Frontier Tower lobby. This model is a re-creation of the original used by Imagineers in the 1970s to create Big Thunder. It is incredible and enthralled our whole family – and not just because it is one of our all-time favorite rides!

Although I wish I had more details for you on enchanting tours, Lauren, I hope the information has been helpful! And I'll keep my fingers crossed that, with a little pixie dust, the dreams that you wish will indeed come true.

Come visit again real soon! Happy to help with any other planning questions you may have.

    Your pal,
    McCayla

Hello from the Pacific Northwest! I'm McCayla, a wife and mom dreaming of adventure in the great wide somewhere, yet also completely content watching Toy Story from the couch. My love of Disneyland began as a little girl on Peter Pan's Flight and only grows with each visit. But even when I'm not physically at the Happiest Place on Earth, I truly feel that same joy when I can help others (YOU!) experience the magic of Disneyland Resort too.
