I'm visiting Disneyworld this week! First timer! In my sixties! Will I have any hope of getting fast passes for the most popular rides since my trip is so soon? I am a little confused as to how the fast pass experience works.

    Hello Patricia!

Oh my goodness! I am so excited for you! A first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is always a special and magical experience, no matter your age.

FastPass+ is a complimentary service that allows you to reserve up to three popular attractions in advance, meaning shorter-than-usual waits once you arrive! Depending on the park or parks you are planning to visit, you may still have good luck securing some FastPass+ selections. I would highly recommend you make your selections in advance, rather than waiting until the day of arrival for the best availability of attractions.

To make selections now, you would need to have active theme park tickets. Since you were able to submit your question to us, you must already have a My Disney Experience Account, so that is where you start. If anyone is traveling with you, make sure they too have an account and you are linked as Family & Friends, or you can add additional guests to your account. Then you should purchase your theme park tickets if you haven't already, and link each ticket to each Guest. If you have already purchased tickets, be sure they are linked in My Disney Experience. After you have active tickets, My Disney Experience will allow you to reserve FastPass+ selections for each day of your visit! Once you arrive, you’ll go to Will Call at any theme park or Disney Springs Guest Relations or any ticket window to pick up your physical park tickets if you are staying off property. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, your theme park tickets will be autoMAGICally linked to your MagicBand. When it is time for your FastPass+ attraction, you'll simply tap your MagicBand or your theme park ticket to the Mickey Touchpoint at the FastPass Entrance and you'll be good to go!

Make sure you have the My Disney Experience Mobile App downloaded on your phone for use in the parks. You’ll be able to check your FastPass+ selections, attraction wait times, character meet-and-greets and more!

I hope you have a memorable visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, and I hope this is the first of many visits for you, Patricia! Please let us know if you have any additional questions!
