I’m visiting disneyworld for 3 days with a 3 and 6 year old. We have park hopper passes. Should we start each day at magic kingdom? Is Epcot good for those ages? We won’t be doing animal kingdom. Thanks!

    Hi Catherine,

Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question about visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with your little ones.  Before we begin, I want to assure you that there is so much to see and do at each of the theme parks that Guests of all ages are sure to have a Magical visit.  So, no matter what you decide to do or which parks you visit, you will be immersed in the Magic and make some cherished memories.

It sounds like you are planning on visiting Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and possibly EPCOT during your visit.  Those are great choices!  When my children were little, most of the time their two favorite theme parks were Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios.  However, they were a favorite by just a little bit!  It wasn't too long before my oldest daughter's favorite theme park became EPCOT, and my youngest daughter's favorite theme park became Disney's Animal Kingdom.

I love your idea of visiting Magic Kingdom Park more than once and think that is an excellent plan.  If I were vacationing with 3 and 6 year old children for 3 days at the Walt Disney World Resort, I would plan on spending 1 and a half days at Magic Kingdom Park.  However you decide to "mix and match" is up to you, but beginning at Magic Kingdom Park early in the morning when the theme park opens will allow you to experience many attractions before the crowds and temperatures rise.  I always think it's a good idea to take an afternoon break back at your hotel so everyone can rest and cool down a bit, and this is especially true when traveling with little ones.  Then after everyone has had a nice break, your family can head back to the same theme park or a different theme park since you have the Park Hopper Option.

If you decide to visit Magic Kingdom Park in the morning for 2 of your days, I recommend starting your other day at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  This theme park is also very popular for preschoolers and little ones, so being some of the first Guests to enter will help you experience more attractions before it becomes busier.

You asked specifically if EPCOT is a good theme park to visit with young children, and I can tell you that in my experience it definitely is!  Here is a link to Attractions and Entertainment at EPCOT for Preschoolers and Kids so you can look at some of the offerings.  You can change the filters to view different theme parks as well as change the filter for ages if you want to view other things.  EPCOT is quite a large theme park, and because there is more room for Guests to spread out it never really feels that busy to me and I often enjoy hopping there in the evening.

Have a Magical vacation, and please let us know if you have any further Disney vacation planning questions.  We are always excited to help you plan your next Magical adventure.

    See Ya Real Soon,
