Hi Maryanne!
I actually had my first trip to Disneyland during the 2012 Tinkerbell Half Marathon! It was so much fun to see, and so different from Walt Disney World.
I think the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour is your best option! I have heard that it's amazing and that the newer version of it now includes going into Walt's apartment!! I was lucky enough to go through it with a group of runDisney runners. I can honestly say that I felt some chills being in the same apartment that he lived in with his family:) I may have shed a few "happy tears" as well!
Obviously, you will want to explore both parks and check out the new Cars Land at Disney's California Adventure park. I also love riding the rides that are found at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World to compare them. Some of them are actually quite different!
If you have the time, I would also recommend exploring the Disneyland Resorts. They are beautiful! The best part about Disneyland is that the parks, resorts, and Downtown Disney area are all within easy walking distance from each other. Be sure to ride the monorail around a few times, too!
I hope you have a great trip! And, if you have specific questions about Disneyland, you can also check with our Disneyland experts. You can find

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
