I'm visiting Disney World in September. It will be my husband (28) AND my daughters (2) first time ever seeing the magic themselves. It will also be my daughters 2nd birthday! Any suggestions what to pack, what to see, etc? And any extra birthday fun??

    Hi Alexandra!

That is so exciting that your husband and daughter will be visiting Walt Disney World for the first time together!  I am a completely type A personality when packing for my Disney vacations, so for each of my children they have a Zip-Lock  style bag for each day with outfits and any accessories such as hair bows. It will still be very warm and humid so make sure to pack comfortable cool clothing and comfortable shoes, there is a lot of walking to be done!  Also, be prepared for unexpected showers by packing a poncho.  While chance of storms are greater during the summer, they do happen. Plus, the ponchos can be used on rides such as Splash Mountain to keep you from getting drenched. I recommend taking a peek at the packing list over at Mousesavers.com, it has all the essentials and everything you will need for your Walt Disney World vacation.

Celebrating a birthday is an extra special event at Walt Disney World! Be sure to stop by the front desk at your Disney resort or any Guest Relations to pick out a complimentary birthday button, there's also buttons for 1st time visitors too! If you will be dining at any of the table service locations, make sure that it is noted on your reservation that you are celebrating a birthday. Cast members will sometimes throw some extra pixie dust into your meal.  You can also order your daughter a custom cake that can be served at any table service restaurant and can be created to fulfill anything you can imagine.  Make sure to order at least 72 hours in advance, but no more than 2-3 weeks in advance by calling 407-827-2253.

I'm sure that Magic Kingdom will be a big focal point of your trip and your visiting just in time to see the new Fantasyland, complete with 2 Flying Dumbos and a play area I'm sure your little one will not want to leave.
I hope this helps get you started, please visit me again if you need anymore help!

    Best Wishes!
