I'm visiting Disney World for the first time for about 2.5 days, coming off the Disney Cruise. How many hours should i plan to leave DisneyWorld to catch a 6pm flight? Also, is it worth buying a ticket if i can stay until 2pm that last day?

    Hi Judy,

How wonderful that you get to extend your vacation after your awesome Disney Cruise! Spending time at the theme parks is a great way to end your vacation.  You don't indicate how you will be traveling back to the airport from the Walt Disney World Resort, so I'll provide two different scenarios.

If you have booked Disney's Magical Express with your resort reservation, bus transportation leaves from the hotel approximately three hours prior to your flight, or 3:00 pm in your case.  If you are at the theme parks, I would not leave any later than 2:00 pm to be on time for the bus.  Whether or not you can justify a ticket purchase would be up to you.  If it was me, I'd definitely purchase a ticket because I love to spend time at the parks, however long I am able to stay. You may want to think about purchasing a multi day Park Hopper ticket to get the most value for your money.

If you are driving a vehicle from the theme parks back to the airport, I would allow approximately three hours.  That will give you enough time to drive to the airport, drop off your rental car, go through security and still have enough time to catch your flight.  You just never know how long it will take to get through security, so better safe than sorry.

I hope this information was helpful.  If there is anything else we can do for you at the Moms Panel, just give us a shout.

    Be Magical,
