Hello Marion!
Welcome to planDisney! I hope your travel all the way from Australia was or will be smooth and easy. I'm sorry that purchasing tickets to Walt Disney World Resort though has been a bit of a challenge.
The way to purchase tickets varies based on where you are when you purchase them. If you are in Australia and wish to purchase tickets to Walt Disney World Resort while there you will have to speak to a travel agent as noted on the
Australian version of the Walt Disney World website. The ticket options you can purchase in Australia could be different than what you purchase in the United States. I, unfortunately, do not have a way to know what they are as I am in the States. I hope they have some lovely multi-day discounted ticket options for you that are better than what is offered here in the United States.
After getting a quote from a travel agent I would compare it to the options you can buy once you arrive in the United States. I'm going to link you here to the
United States version of the Walt Disney World ticket site. It may not work until you arrive in the United States, however. I'm going to mention some prices available for guests in the United States but remember that
prices are subject to change! The ticket options we have depends on the type you buy:
-
1 Park Per Day Ticket lets you visit one of the four Theme Parks a day.
-
Park Hopper Option added onto a ticket lets you now "hop" to another Park at 2 PM.
-
Park Hopper Plus Option added to your ticket lets you not only "hop" after 2 PM but also lets you visit any of the open Water Parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, golf courses, and miniature golf courses.
- Right now, and only available to purchase until September 4, 2023, is the
4-Park Magic Ticket. This is a pretty great deal which is currently priced at around $396 and lets you visit each of the 4 Walt Disney World Theme Parks over 4 different days.
There is no set price for each day in the Parks as it is dependent on the day you want to visit and how many days you wish to purchase tickets for. For example, right now, a ticket for one day at
Magic Kingdom Park on August 28, 2023, is $149. A ticket for EPCOT however, is $134. If I wanted to purchase a 5-day ticket that is 1 Park Per Day I will find that it will cost me $527.81 which is an average of $105.56 per day no matter what Park I visit. In addition, kids between the ages of 3 and 9 can get that 5-day ticket at the discounted price of $508.64. Children younger than 3 are free no matter where you buy your tickets from. It may sound confusing but this pricing system works best for guests visiting during certain seasons and for longer trips. Once you arrive in the United States you will be able to play around a bit on the website and find what works for you.
It helps right now that there seems to be plenty of Theme Park Reservation availability for the next few weeks. You will need a Theme Park Reservation in place for most ticket types you purchase. Single-day tickets and the special 4 Park Magic Ticket are the exception. You can set up your Theme Park Reservations right on your
My Disney Experience account.
I hope this helps and if you have any more questions, please feel free to come back!
Happy Planning!
