If I’m going to visit my friend who is a so called resident and we are going to Disneyland together are they eligible to purchase the tickets for us to use?

    Hi Dawn,

Thanks for visiting planDisney! I'm happy to hear that you’ll be able to create some magical memories with your friends at Disneyland.

The SoCal 3-day ticket is a great way to visit the parks, and I hope Disney continues to offer this ticket option to SoCal residents. This year, the SoCal 3-day tickets are valid for Southern California residents within ZIP codes 90000 to 93599. This is a very generous interpretation of Southern California, including cities like San Luis Obispo, Bakersfield, San Diego, Palm Springs, and even Barstow! If you happen to live in these areas, then you can buy a SoCal Ticket for yourself. Be sure to get your park reservations in quickly, as the deal ends May 15, 2025.

If you don’t live in the qualifying area, your friend would be unable to buy a ticket on your behalf. When you arrive at the park, each adult will need to show a Cast Member a valid government-issued photo ID with your name and an address that falls within the qualifying area. So, it’s really important to only purchase these tickets if the user lives in the outlined area. I know that may not be the news you were hoping for, but keep an eye out for future offers and discounts in the parks.

I don’t know if this is a big deal for you, but you’ll be visiting on Star Wars Day! Disneyland will be celebrating the Season of the Force across the park. There are so many amazing things coming to the park during this time—new food, merchandise, and experiences. I’m personally excited for the return of Hyperspace Mountain, which is Space Mountain with a Star Wars overlay. I’m also looking forward to the new nightly projection show called “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga.” I’ve been to Disneyland on Star Wars Day a couple of times, and the Force feels different on that day. Check out the Disney Parks Blog for their guide on everything coming to the park. I’m confident the Force will be with you during your vacation.

I hope this information was helpful, Dawn. If you have any other questions or need help planning, feel free to write back to me or one of my fellow panelists. We’d be happy to share our thoughts.

    Wishing you a magical trip!
