Takahiro from JP-12 Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I’m going to visit DLR in Mid-November from Japan. So I want to know what kind of clothes shoud I wear? I heard the temperature changes a lot between the daytime and the nighttime. Please let me know give some examples.

    Welcome Takahiro!

We are so happy to have you here at planDisney. You are arriving just in time to enjoy the Holidays at the Happiest Place on Earth, which kicks off on November 14th! It is such a magical time to explore the parks, with holly jolly decorations, seasonal treats, and characters in their holiday best. Let's chat about what to pack so you can stay comfortable from morning to night.

You are right, the weather in Southern California can be unpredictable. With the dry climate, the mornings and evenings can be cool and crisp while the sun heats the middle part of the day, which can be quite toasty. Alternatively, you may encounter an unexpected heat wave. My planDisney pals and I will all tell you the key to dressing for a day in the parks is layers! While it's hard to see that far into the future with the weather forecast, I can see that temperatures next week are already dipping into the high 60s to mid-70s during the day and all the way down to the mid-50s in the evening. In my experience, this would mean sneakers, jeans, a t-shirt, and a warm sweatshirt or sweater. I'd probably also pack a medium-weight jacket just to have with me. It's better to have more layers to pile on than fewer, and if you find yourself carrying around too much while the sun's out, you can always rent a locker inside the parks to keep those extra layers close when the sun sets.

Of course, there are some warming tricks if the temperature does drop! Who doesn't love strolling down Main Street with a piping hot coffee or hot chocolate in hand? You can grab these from the Starbucks right on Main Street, or you can even Mobile Order a hot beverage from several places throughout the parks, from the Mint Julep Bar to the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe in Disneyland, all the way over to the Cappuccino Cart in California Adventure. You may as well grab a seasonal treat while you're at it!

You can also add a souvenir layer to your collection with a quick stop at the many retail locations throughout the parks. I recommend World of Disney in the Downtown Disney District, which seems to always have the largest selection, including the limited-time seasonal merchandise like a festive Mickey sweater or spirit jersey. You can even have some special pieces embroidered with your name!

Finally, there are a few longer, indoor experiences which may come in handy when you just need a quick warm-up. I recommend Walt Disney—A Magical Life, where you can hear Walt himself talk about hopes, dreams, and inspiration. Pirates of the Caribbean is also a great escape, as this is one of the longer attractions, and the queue is indoors as well. If you are over at California Adventure and you have little Mouseketeers in tow, hop into watch Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! or take your time exploring the Animation Academy

I hope this has helped you plan some practically perfect outfits ahead of your visit. If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at planDisney!

Here's to soaking in the holiday magic!
