I'm a victim of reading too much, tip boards, guides, etc. Confused! Do we visit MK first or leave to end, do EMH or avoid, park-hop or stay put, dine in/near parks or travl to resorts, take break/naps? Pls help schedule! DH, Me & DS (4) - BC Dec 1

    Hi Karen,

There is a lot of conflicting information out there.  The crazy thing is, everyone's opinion is right -- for them.  The tricky part is finding out what works best for you and your family, and believe me, it can make anyone's head swim.  I plan...second guess my plans...re-plan...over and over.  Ultimately, there will be some experiences that my family will miss.  You just can't do it all, BUT we always have a great time.

The Beach Club is our favorite resort, so I can tell you what has worked for our family with small children.  First off, we do purchase Park Hopper passes.  Because we have early risers, we tend to take advantage of the morning extra magic hours.  At around 11:00 we grab lunch in the park and then head back to our resort for some rest time -- usually a nap (if we're lucky) and some pool time.  Most evenings we dine at either Epcot or Hollywood Studios and spend our evenings in these parks.  There are so many great dining options, especially in Epcot, that this is a great plan for us.  At the end of the night we can simply walk back to the Beach Club without waiting for buses.

As far as dining, we usually stay within the parks or around the Boardwalk.  There are enough options that we don't feel we need to spend time traveling to other resorts on property.  One of our favorite character breakfasts is Cape May Cafe, right in the Beach Club.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
