Hi, Tara! I think it's an excellent idea to drive your kids up to the Disneyland Resort for a day of fun and excitement!
Park hopper tickets are available for the Disneyland Resort and I think they are a great value. Unlike the Walt Disney World Resort, both parks and the
Downtown Disney District are within footsteps of each other so hopping back and forth is a breeze. Save yourself some time by purchasing tickets online and taking your eTickets, either printed or on your mobile device, directly to the gates.
The Disneyland Resort still uses the traditional paper
FASTPASS system, so you will obtain FASTPASS tickets once you are in the parks. Use the
Disneyland app to check attraction wait times and FASTPASS return times to help make efficient use of your day.
If you need a suggestion for a quick lunch, my top picks are
Flo's V8 Cafe in Disney California Adventure Park or
Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe at Disneyland Park. At Flo's, try the roast beef and cheddar sandwich and grab a table around back for a great view of Radiator Springs Racers while you eat. If you are in Disneyland Park, a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup at Jolly Holiday are sure to hit the spot.
You and your family are going to have a wonderful day at the Disneyland Resort!
