Hello Lucy,
As the current
UK Panelist here at planDisney, I'm so happy that you've stopped by with such a great question for us to help you with today.
Lucy, your super interesting question concerning the oh-so pixie-dusted Disney Gift Cards has given me such a conundrum, and I'm going to try to explain why!
I'm more than happy to share that
Disney Gift Cards purchased in the United States of America can indeed be used to pay for almost anything Disney-related including holidays to Walt Disney World Resort. When booking a Disney stay online at the US-based
DisneyWorld.Disney.go.com website, Guests wishing to pay with Disney Gift Cards are invited to input their card details on the check-out page.
Therefore, if you had any US
Disney Gift Cards,
and you booked your holiday via the US-based
DisneyWorld.Disney.go.com - then
yes you can use
Disney Gift Cards as a form of payment to make a booking.However... at this time, Guests from the UK aren't able to make an online purchase of US Disney Gift Cards, or Disney eGift Cards as
shopDisney currently does not ship (even via email) to the United Kingdom.
Plus, when booking a holiday direct with the
Walt Disney Travel Company, there are no current procedures in place to
pay with Disney Gift Cards, only with Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, Discover, or Diners Club International credit or debit cards.Lucy, I truly hope that I've been able to offer an easy-to-understand explanation! If you should have any further questions relating to your plans to visit the most magical place on earth, then please do pop back here to me at planDisney! I'm always happy to help wherever possible.
Have a great Disney day ~ Jane
