I’m turning 30 and celebrating at Disneyland! Can I bring large balloons “30”? They won’t have logos. Just plain numbers in gold.

    Happy birthday, Griselda!

The Disneyland Resort is the best place to celebrate all the birthdays and even the unbirthdays too!

It sounds like you have a cute idea for a celebratory picture. I hope it goes well for you. I do want to have you consider different options and prepare you for different possible outcomes though. I have personally taken an outside balloon into the Disneyland Resort theme parks. Think of the line “adventure is out there” and young Ellie and Carl. That is the image that goes along with the small “Spirit of Adventure” balloon that my wife and I took with us as an accessory to our couples costumes we wore to Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party

So yes, it should be possible to take an outside balloon into the theme parks. But, just in case, I would have a backup plan in mind as well. That is because the security Cast Members outside the theme parks are going to be looking out for the safety and well-being of other Guests and Cast Members. If an item appears as if it might cause a disruption or safety hazard, security may decline to allow it to enter. Decisions about permitted items are up to the discretion of the security Cast Members. Since items like gender-reveal balloons cannot be allowed, Cast Members may enforce a similar policy with all other non-Disney balloons as well. If you do happen to want to get a balloon in the park, I’m glad to say that balloon purchases may now be made with either cash or non-cash. Even Disney Gift Cards are accepted.

Tony’s Tip: If you are planning to take lots of pictures for your birthday, you can’t go wrong with Disney PhotoPass. I think it’s great that PhotoPass downloads are included with the purchase of the Disney Genie+ service at the Disneyland Resort. That way, you’ll be able to make your birthday extra special with the VIP treatment afforded to Guests experiencing attractions via Lightning Lane access!

Whether or not you are able to pull off the fun balloon experience, I am certain you will find plenty of magic during your visit. If you happen to be dining at a participating restaurant, I do recommend the celebration cakes. My family enjoyed one of these when we celebrated a recent birthday. I was surprised at how big it was. And every bit of it was delicious, down to the cute little tail!

Have a most magical time, Griselda!
