Hello. I’m trying to upgrade my magic key for myself and my daughter. We haven’t used the pass yet, but we want to go with some of our friends this Friday, 10/3. Is the only way to upgrade by going to Disneyland? Then we can’t guarantee a reservation.

Hiya, Julie. Thanks for stopping by with your Magic Key question!

To upgrade from one Disneyland Magic Key to another, you will need to visit the Disneyland Resort ticket booth. There is not currently a way to do it online. Additionally, please note that any difference in the price between the two keys will be due upon upgrading. It is also my understanding that, outside of a Key's 30-day renewal window, you can only upgrade to a pass if it is currently available for purchase. The Inspire and Believe Keys are only available for renewal at the moment.

Julie, you are absolutely correct. Once you've upgraded, you can only make a theme park reservation if there are any available. There is no guarantee that a Friday reservation will be available if you upgrade that day. If you are local, it might be worth going over there before Friday to upgrade and secure a reservation! If you've got any other questions about your Magic Key or how an upgrade would work, I encourage you to reach out to us again or call the Magic Key Holders phone line.

I hope this information helps, Julie. If you've got any other questions, please visit us again. I love helping fellow Magic Key holders.

    See you in the parks,
    Melissa
