    I’m trying to share a Magic mobile Pass with my husband, but when I try to send the message, I get an error that says his device may not support this type of pass. We both have iPhones. Does he need to have the app?

    Hi Melissa!

    Thank you so much for bringing your questions to planDisney. Disney MagicMobile Service is a great new contactless way to access your theme park admissions, connect with Disney PhotoPass images, and even open your Walt Disney World Resort Collection hotel room. I recently used MagicMobile on my last trip to the theme parks and I was pleasantly surprised with the ease and convince of this feature. 

    Melissa, sometimes this error occurs if the iPhone you are sending the pass to is not updated with the current system requirements. The first troubleshooting advice I can offer is checking to be sure the iPhone is iOS 14.4 or later. If the device needs an update, complete this and then try sending the MagicMobile pass again. Your husband will also need Apple Wallet enabled on the phone. Already updated and have Apple Wallet but still getting an error? You may want to speak with a Cast Member who supports My Disney Experience and MagicBands. They may be able to offer technical expertise beyond my knowledge. If they are unable to resolve this by phone you will still be able to use the MagicMobile Pass from your device for your husband to enter the theme parks. You can also get a MagicBand or card to access theme park tickets, resort room entry, and all the other amazing features Magic Mobile has to offer. Magic Bands are available for purchase throughout Walt Disney World. The card is complimentary and can be received at check-in or at a Guest Relations location. If stopping by Guest Relations, you can ask them for tech support with this pass as well. I personally chose to have a Cast Member help me in person with this pass, and they were able to solve my technical trouble in minutes!

    Another option would be for your husband to download the My Disney Experience Mobile App. This will give him the same magical access to all of your park plans, and give him the option to use Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering and Mobile Merchandise Checkout. These two time-savers make having the app a must. The My Disney Experience Mobile App will give him the ability to manage his pass and add it to his Apple Wallet. All he will need to do is link his ticket in the app, choose his customized Magic Mobile ticket theme, and he should be all set to enter the parks.
