Hi Tammy,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! And welcome to a
dining reservation dilemma many of us have experienced!
I would not suggest that you show up with five people if you do not have a reservation for five. If you have not tried to call and speak to a cast member in dining, try calling 407-939-1947. If you are still unable to secure a single reservation for the entire party, then try booking two separate reservations, one for a party of three and one for a party of two. On the day of your dining reservation, arrive 20-30 minutes early and request that you be seated together. Although there is no guarantee that the restaurant can seat you together, my experience has been that cast members will do their best to accommodate your party.
On a prior trip, I had a similar experience when planning a trip for a group of seven of us. At Be Our Guest Restaurant, they have a limited number of tables for large parties, so I was unable to secure a reservation earlier than 9:00 p.m. even though I was online trying to make reservations as soon as our 180-day booking window opened. When I called, the cast member I spoke with made two reservations at about the same time for us. When we arrived to the restaurant, I asked if we could be seated together and we were!
Of course, I always suggest that you continue checking the online reservation system. I have also been able to change dining reservations close to our trip dates. I would just pick an evening or a weekend day that I could literally check the system for a few hours at a time until a reservation spot opened (literally, like magic).
Tammy, I am sending pixie dust your way trusting that you will be able to make dining reservations with your party. Those shared meal times are the best way to re-live adventures from the day!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
