I’m trying to purchase tickets to come with my kids before Christmas if the dates are unavailable at the park, how does that work do we keep the tickets and wait for the dates to open up

    Hi Mary! Welcome to planDisney!

What a fun adventure you have planned by visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with your kiddos this holiday season. No matter the age of your children, there is something for everyone at the Most Magical Place on Earth. I love how our Disney vacations grow with us through the years. We always discover something new! You will make SO many special memories!

Before purchasing your Walt Disney World theme park tickets, you will want to take a peek at the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar to make sure the theme parks you want on the days of your visit are available. If so, go ahead and purchase your tickets, then make your Disney Park Pass reservations right away. Since both tickets and reservations are currently required to enter the theme parks, you want to be prepared!

If you have tickets and are unable to use them for any reason, you can hold on to them. Wholly unused tickets that have expired can have their value applied to new tickets. You just have to pay the difference in cost. This only applies to tickets that have not had any days used on the ticket, so keep that in mind. Hopefully, you won't run into any issues and can use your tickets very soon!

I hope this helps, Mary! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
