I'm trying to plan our 2014 Walt Disney World vacation I am trying to decide between September and October could you please tell me which would be a better travel time for weather and low crowds? looking at staying at All-Star sports or All-Star movies

    Tracy:

September and October are some of my family's favorite times to visit Disney, not only has the heat of summer tapered off, but you'll find the parks dressed festively for fall.

If you're looking for low crowds, the week after Labor Day in September will provide one of the lowest of the season and Value Season prices reflect that, however, keep in mind that the heat is more of a factor than, say, the end of October. September also brings hurricane season that poses some unpredictability. As much as I love low crowds, the heat can sometimes make me more agitated than waiting in line an extra 10 minutes. If I were choosing, I'd go with October yet not over the Columbus Day Weekend. Additionally, the Food & Wine Festival can bring large numbers to Epcot in October, but we've found that, if we can avoid it on the weekends and visit that park during the week, we can also miss the locals that make weekend-visiting in October seem shoulder-to-shoulder.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
