Hi! I’m trying to plan a trip and I’ve looked through prohibited items. Since i cannot bring a backpack into the park, how do guests carry essentials? Is there a type of backpack that is allowed? Thank you!

    Hey Caroline!

    Welcome to planDisney!

It wouldn’t be summer without a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth! August is such a fun time to visit and the weather is nice and warm. When you’re looking to cool down and take a break from all the fun, consider stopping by Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street U.S.A. or Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop inside Disney California Adventure Park. I hope you plan on visiting Avengers Campus too! One of the refreshing cocktails at Pym Tasting Lab is also a good idea to beat the heat! The X-Periment is my favorite and you will have to try it!

The Disneyland Resort has a list of prohibited items that are not allowed into the theme parks. You’ll be happy to hear that standard size backpacks are indeed allowed into the theme parks. That way you can carry all of your essentials including your favorite park ears! As long as the backpack is not bigger than 24” x 15” x 18” you are good to go! Most standard backpacks fit nicely into these measurements. If you're unsure about your backpack, you can always purchase one when you get here. Last week I saw a tie dye one and a larger double zipper gray one that were really nice. We may have brought the tie dye one home!

Well Caroline, if you have any other questions before your trip please come back and let us know!

Remember, always believe in the Magic!
