Hi, I’m trying to plan a trip to Disneyland sometime this year. I have a 1 year old son and I don’t know if he would need a ticket for entire to the park.

    Hey Alexander!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It’s so exciting to be planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort!

Congratulations on the little guy turning one! It’s such a big milestone and I couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate than the Happiest Place on Earth. Glad to see you're planning for the big trip. Currently, your son will not need his own ticket to enter the park until he is three years old. So just make sure everyone in your party three and up has their own ticket and you will be good to go! I highly recommend taking your son over to Mickey’s Toontown! It usually doesn’t open when Disneyland Park opens so ask a Cast Member when you get there about opening time for the day.

PRO TIP: If you get there right at Mickey’s Toontown opening, there is typically one or more characters there to help open it up! It’s a great chance for character interactions and photos with your little guy!

Stop by Mickey’s House for a tour of the place and photo opportunity at the end of your tour. You’ll never know how Mickey Mouse decides to dress for the day, but I'd have to say Steamboat Willie is my favorite! After that, stop by Minnie’s House for a tour and photo opportunity as well. She is just the sweetest! There’s so much more to see inside of Mickey's Toontown and around the rest of the parks. Check out the full list of attractions available without height restrictions so that everyone can ride together. Don’t forget to ask for a Happy Birthday button at the park entrance turnstiles or you can stop by City Hall as well.

Well Alexander, I hope your son has the happiest of birthdays at the Disneyland Resort and if you have any more questions be sure to come back!

Remember, always believe in the magic!
