Jambo, Eugenia!
How exciting to hear you are planning a first trip for your husband and daughters. You'll be making so many magical memories as a family!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort is a place I could stay without ever visiting the theme parks. Its celebration of African culture and arts make it an incredible experience. And of course, the resort's savannas provide guests with up close moments with all the animals. How incredible is it to sip your morning coffee with giraffes just feet away! And don't worry if you don't book a savanna view room; there are savannah look-outs throughout the entire resort for all the guests to enjoy.
As for the weather, I find that visiting during the fall and winter months to be the most pleasant. The temperatures are not-too-hot and not-too-cold with much lower humidity. However, weather can be unpredictable and may do its own thing. For example, we've had December trips where we were bundled up in coat, hats, and mittens and other trips where we wore shorts the entire time. My husband and I just took a trip the week before Thanksgiving and found the weather nearly perfect. We also really appreciated that we could enjoy the final weekend of
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival while also getting to attend
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It really felt like we had been sprinkled with an extra dose of pixie dust!
