Hi there, Roy! Welcome to planDisney. Planning a Disney trip takes a bit of strategy but with a little faith, trust, and pixie dust (and also planDisney,) you’ll be one step closer to the magic. I’d love to help you figure out those blockout dates.
When considering blockout dates for California, it’s worth noting that California residents have the ability to purchase a 3 Day CA Resident Park Hopper Ticket in addition to also being an
Imagine Key passholder. I took a look at the
calendar for the 3 Day CA Resident Park Hopper Ticket by viewing the Reserve Your Ticket Dates page. At this time, the calendar goes out to May 2026, and April 11 and 18 (both Saturdays) are blocked out for this type of ticket. I was also able to find the
calendar for blockout dates for the Imagine Key and found that a majority of Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays appear to be blocked out, in addition to the entirety of June and July. Another thing to remember is when spring break lines up with most of the school districts in California, which typically appears to fall around mid March to early April.
If you do find yourself going during a busy season, I find that utilizing
Lightning Lane passes is a great way to maximize the number of attractions you can experience during a park day. My husband and I took our son last month during the Disneyland Half Marathon, which made for packed parks full of racers. With Lightning Lanes for our two-day park hopper tickets, we were able to go on our son’s favorite attractions with little to no wait. This was KEY as waiting in line with a toddler is no easy feat! While we didn’t feel the need to use Lightning Lanes prior to this particular visit, my husband has sworn to never go back now that our son is able to ride the big kid rides!
Roy, thank you so much for visiting planDisney. I hope this information was helpful to you as you continue to plan your upcoming visit. If you need any more assistance in planning your trip, planDisney is always here for you!
With a Sprinkle of Pixie Dust,
Bev
