Hi Mark,
Welcome to planDisney!
Well, this is a dilemma. I checked the
Availability Calendar for the
Disney Park Pass system and you are correct. At this time, the availability is different for theme park ticket holders and Annual Passholders. There are two parks with availability - Disney's Animal Kingdom and EPCOT. So, I suggest that you make a park pass reservation for one of those parks. Additional availability could appear later for the other two parks.
Since it looks like you might be local, you may want to consider doing a staycation and booking a night a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. Park availability for resort guests is open for all four theme parks on that day. If you have your heart set on Magic Kingdom or Disney's Hollywood Studios for that day and are unable to book a resort hotel stay, I suggest that you keep checking the availability calendar.
I wish I could work some additional magic. As an Annual Passholder, I understand your dilemma. I did call 407-939-5277 to speak to a Cast Member to double-check for other possibilities. She was unable to find additional availability for October 23 at Magic Kingdom or Disney's Hollywood Studios. However, she did say there is a chance that the park availability calendar may not show availability when a guest has made a recent change but there may be availability. If you have not done so already, I suggest that you have your daughters go through the system to see if they can actually make the park reservations.
Mark, make sure you keep track of the
operational updates as procedures could change. And, while you wait, make a few
advanced dining reservations to be sure that your family has a few spectacular dining experiences. If you need an option outside of the theme parks, one of our favorite restaurants is
California Grill. The views of Magic Kingdom are simply stunning!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
