Well, hello there Maresa! Fellow Princess Tiana fan right here! I just love her hard-working sensibility and confidence paired with her hopeful dreaming and wishing on stars. She is pure magic and a wonderful role model. I can understand why you are on the lookout for her at the Disneyland Resort!
Now let's grab a lily pad and head on down to the bayou together to get some answers to your questions! While there are no official festivities scheduled at the moment to celebrate Mardi Gras, this doesn't mean the day will pass without any fanfare. I always recommend checking the
entertainment calendar or the
Disney Parks Blog ahead of your visit to see if anything pops up. In the past, New Orleans Square has been adorned with festive decorations and Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen have been known to make an appearance!
If seeing Princess Tiana is on your list of must-dos, she can often be found in a few places throughout Disneyland Park. Some of my fellow panelists have recently spotted her in New Orleans Square, on the
Mark Twain Riverboat, and outside the Royal Hall and Royal Theatre just to the left of Sleeping Beauty Castle. While character interactions are still at a distance, this hasn't made them any less magical. You also may want to consider the
Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures hosted at the Napa Rose in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa where Guests can mix and mingle with Disney royalty! Maybe give them a call a few days ahead of time to check with a Cast Member to see which princesses are scheduled to attend.
Like Tiana says, "If you do your best each and every day, good things are sure to come your way." While we may not know of any official Disneyland Mardi Gras celebrations, that surely doesn't mean it cannot be celebrated! I think it would be a blast to grab a dining reservation at
Cafe Orleans. You'll feel like you are sitting in the heart of the French Quarter while you dine on New Orleans-inspired cuisine. The Monte Cristo sandwich is a Disneyland classic and is not to be missed! While you're enjoying a leisurely meal, place a Mobile Order at the
Mint Julep Bar just around the corner for those famous Mickey beignets. Make sure to give the bag a few extra shakes so the powdered sugar coats each and every one. With beignets in hand, stroll through New Orleans Square and take in the sights and sounds and stop into
Cristal d'Orleans for a glittering keepsake, maybe even a tiara! You could even check out
Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in the Downtown Disney District as they may have something special planned!
Maresa, we've climbed a mountain, crossed a river and we are almost there ... to your Mardi Gras celebration! I sure hope this was helpful in making some wonderful memories. If you have any other questions, please reach back out to me or any of my fellow panelists. We are always here for you at
planDisney!
Keep wishing on those stars,
Tara
