    Hello. I’m trying to plan my day in the app but when I change the date a message box appears that reads “unable to summon screen”. Am I able to plan my day ahead of time? Please advise. Thank you! Christine

    Hi there, Christine!

    I hope you are having a wonderful time planning the practically perfect details of your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. It sounds like you'll be visiting at a wonderful time as the parks begin to shine with the sparkle of the holidays right around the first of November. I love seeing all of the festive decorations!

    I believe you are trying to summon Disney Genie Service which is a complimentary tool to help plan your Disney day. As long as you have a trip booked and valid theme park admission for those days, you should be able to use the service to help plan your day. Once you open the My Disney Experience mobile app, you should see a box for Disney Genie Service and be able to select "Summon Disney Genie." It will then give you information about the service and the option to select, "Start Now." The next step should be a calendar that will show available dates. Dates will only be available if you have valid theme park admission for those dates. First, you'll select the date and then you can select which park. Next, you'll need to select the Guests from your party you'd like to plan for. The system will list whether or not the Guest has an eligible ticket or pass for that day. Once you select "Continue" it will populate a list of attractions, entertainment, dining and enchanting extras you can select from. 

    Ahead of your arrival, Disney Genie Service will recommend activities and experiences that you are able to book ahead or that you may want to add to your "My Top Picks." On the day of your visit, Disney Genie Service will help craft an itinerary to help you plan the most on your magical day. Please be aware that these "My Top Picks" are not reservations, but just recommendations to find the best ways to fit your top experiences into your itinerary. Experiences from the Enchanting Extras Collection and Advance Dining Reservations you are able to reserve 60 days ahead of your arrival.

    If you want to plan select experiences and arrival times, you'll want to check out Lightning Lane passes. These give you the opportunity to save time and plan ahead by purchasing a pass to skip the standby line on select attractions. Guests staying at a Disney Resort Hotel or other select hotels may begin purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass 7 days before their arrival. All other Guests can purchase the passes 3 days before their visit.

    If you're still having trouble summoning Disney Genie Service, Christine, make sure that you have the most updated version of the Walt Disney World My Disney Experience mobile app. If an update is not available, you may want to delete the app and re-download it, as sometimes that helps me when I keep running into the same glitch.
