Hi Tawnya!
I'm happy to hear you're planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort with your family! No need to worry - though the theme parks certainly have their share of thrill rides and roller coasters, they were designed with families in mind. There are plenty of attractions and shows for everyone to enjoy!
The easiest way to see an overview of all the rides and attractions that will appeal to your family is to go to the
Attractions page on the official Walt Disney World Resort website. You can filter the results by thrill level, even so far as to choose different elements of the attractions (Big Drops, Small Drops, Thrill Rides, Slow Rides, Water Rides, Spinning, Dark, Loud, and Scary). You can also filter the attractions by Interests, Age Level, Height Restrictions, and Accessibility/Advisories.
If there are any rides that you're unsure about, I always found it beneficial to watch YouTube videos of certain attractions with my daughters before we visited the parks. My kids knew exactly what to expect from a ride before we ever got in the queue line, and I found that they were more likely to try new rides if they were prepared for any surprises.
I'm sure you'll discover that Walt Disney World's theme parks actually have more rides that appeal to those that enjoy milder experiences than to the thrill seekers!
I hope this helps when planning your Walt Disney World vacation. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
